Hakim El Kadiri, the founder of Elka Watch, has broadened his horizons with the launch of Loch Lat, a meticulously crafted single malt whisky. This new venture, born of a passion for watchmaking and spirits, reflects Hakim El Kadiri's commitment to quality and innovation. Loch Lãt is the culmination of a three-year journey that began with a chance inspiration. Inspired by a Belgian friend who had given him a fine whisky, El Kadiri was captivated by the unique character of this spirit and set about creating a Neuchâtel equivalent. Working in partnership with an experienced oenologist, El Kadiri carefully selected the best malt mash and supervised the distillation process. The spirit was then aged in cognac casks, giving it a rich, complex flavour profile. To honour the history of the region, El Kadiri named Loch Lãt after a nearby lake and chose the iconic St Blaise wheel as its logo. This ancient artefact, discovered in the area, symbolises the region's rich heritage. In a nod to its watchmaking expertise, El Kadiri has created a limited edition of 25 watches, each associated with a unique bottle of Loch Lãt. The S series watch features a distinctive amber dial and a high-quality La Joux Perret G100 movement. Loch Lãt is a testament to Hakim El Kadiri's unwavering pursuit of excellence, combining his passion for watchmaking with a new appreciation of the art of whisky making. (Given the complexities involved in exporting alcohol, this exclusive offer combining watch and whisky is only available in Switzerland - only the watch can be sent abroad).
